We traveled by small boats around the icebergs in northeastern Greenland and saw unusually warm temperatures and ice melting rapidly into the sea. We learned that Greenland’s ice sheet had lost a record 11 billion tons of ice, raising global sea levels, while expedition scientists explained the connection to human-caused climate change. We also admired the glaciers and icebergs in this remote region while reflecting on the changes taking place there.
