24 Hours as Tourist in Libya (not easy)

We explored an ancient old city near Libya’s borders with Algeria and Tunisia, spoke with local residents about daily life, safety, and the economy, and visited a nearly empty hotel. We then drove into the Sahara, climbed desert mountains near Algeria, met local four-wheel-drive enthusiasts, and shared a traditional meal in a beautifully lit setting. Throughout the day, we experienced the country’s strict security restrictions while seeing a side of Libya beyond its recent conflict.
