We spent another day exploring Port-au-Prince, visiting a local community where people work, sleep, and support their families, and speaking with residents about poverty, gang violence, guns, politics, and foreign intervention. We navigated chaotic traffic caused by fuel shortages and road blockages before reaching a mountain restaurant, while reflecting on kidnappings, shootings, police intimidation, and the difficulty of traveling beyond the capital. We ended by discussing how unpredictable the trip had been and how difficult it was to show Haiti's safer and more beautiful areas.
