29 Hours of Travel | Koh Tao to Chiang Mai

We travel from Koh Tao by ferry and then take an eight-hour bus toward Bangkok, stopping at roadside food stalls along the way. After racing through Bangkok traffic, we catch an overnight train to Chiang Mai, but only third-class tickets are available, leaving us with a difficult 14-hour journey without air conditioning.
