4 Days Camping with Wild Brown Bears in Alaska

We flew by float plane from Kodiak to Katmai National Park and set up camp behind an electric bear fence. We explored the beaches and mud flats with our guides, watching brown bears fish, graze, swim, and interact with their cubs, including a tense encounter with a male bear near the cubs. We spent the next day crossing rivers and continuing to observe more bears in the park’s dramatic landscape.
