48 Hours on Lake Titicaca’s Floating Islands (with locals)

We spent 48 hours living with Luis and his family on the floating islands of Lake Titicaca, learning about their traditions, homes, and daily life. We made an offering for safe travels, set fishing nets, explored the community, gathered reeds, and enjoyed meals and time with the family. Although parts of the visit initially felt touristy, we came to appreciate the islanders’ culture, hard work, and peaceful way of life.
