5 Days Trekking with the Maasai in Tanzania

We trekked through Maasai villages in the Ngorongoro Highlands, learning about the community’s culture, traditions, pastoral way of life, jewelry-making, and house building. We hiked through rain to stay in a local boma, then climbed Oldonyo Lengai, the sacred Mountain of God and an active volcano, reaching its crater rim. After descending, we celebrated with a traditional Maasai barbecue where every part of a goat was used.
