50 Hours In A Country That Doesn't Exist On A Map (Transnistria)

We travel to Transnistria, an unrecognized region between Moldova and Ukraine that maintains Soviet symbols, its own government, currency, army, and border. We explore Tiraspol, meet locals, get haircuts, visit markets and an abandoned amusement park, and watch the local football team play Real Madrid. We are welcomed into the home of a local grandmother, share meals with her, and surprise her with money for eye surgery. Throughout the trip, we experience the generosity of people living in difficult economic conditions and reflect on the region's unusual identity and history.
