50 hours in a Secret Russian town in America

We traveled deep into Alaska to explore the remote Russian Old Believer communities of Vosnesenka and Nikolaevsk, where we met locals and learned how families fled persecution and established the villages. We visited homes, a post office, and Nina’s café, sharing ice cream, borscht, bread, and traditional desserts while hearing how Russian language and traditions have changed across generations. We also experienced the risks of exploring unfamiliar private property when a local resident confronted us with a gun over our drone.
