72 Hours Of Winter Van Life (when nothing goes as planned)

We traveled north from Taos, New Mexico, in our van, dealing with icy roads, frozen systems, water and waste tanks, and an unexpectedly crowded clothing-optional hot spring. We drove through Colorado, stayed near Salida and Leadville, worked from a mountain campsite, and tried to buy skis before deciding to rent them. We went Nordic skiing, took lessons at a Colorado resort, completed our van’s ski locker, cooked meals in the van, and joined friends for a memorable curling match.
