Abandoned resort created by Fake Doctor

We investigate Zzyzx Mineral Springs in the Mojave Desert, an abandoned resort founded in 1944 by radio evangelist and fake doctor Curtis Springer. We learn how Springer recruited homeless men to build a small town with imitation hot springs, a hotel, church, and airstrip while promoting fraudulent medical cures. We also discover how legal troubles led to the resort's abandonment and how part of the site later became a desert research center.
