Abandoned Soviet Union Under-City (Tunnel Network Underground)

We explored the extensive catacombs beneath Odessa, Ukraine, learning about their history as limestone mines, wartime shelters, smuggling routes, and hiding places. We crawled through narrow passages with our guide Valentine, saw old inscriptions, mining remnants, graffiti, bomb shelters, and evidence of past criminal and everyday activity. We also emerged into the countryside and briefly visited a local market in Odessa.
