Africa's Richest Countries, But Apartheid Destroyed Them - South Africa

We explore Johannesburg, the City of Gold, and learn how apartheid segregated communities, controlled where people could live and work, and relied on exploited Black labor. We visit former prisons, Mandela House, and Robben Island to understand the experiences of political prisoners and Nelson Mandela's 27 years in prison. We then travel through Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope, meet people who resisted apartheid, and reflect on how boycotts and activism helped bring the system to an end.
