America’s Most Secretive Jewish Community: Hasidic Jews (48 Hours Inside)

We explored Hasidic neighborhoods in Brooklyn, visited a synagogue and study hall, and observed prayers, religious education, community patrols, and daily traditions. We spoke with members about large families, modesty, clothing, ritual practices, and the strict limits placed on internet access, television, and other technology. We also visited local businesses and learned about the community from people who live and work there, including a woman who left the ultra-Orthodox world.
