Asking Strangers in China to Throw a Party in Their House

We explored Shanghai during its Halloween celebrations, inviting strangers to a party before finding a local willing to host us in his apartment. After overcoming blocked apps, a shortage of guests, and the challenges of organizing everything, we filled the home with new friends, food, flowers, dumplings, games, and a magician. We celebrated how quickly strangers could become friends and built meaningful connections with people in China.
