At The Iraq - Iran Border (Don't Feel Safe)

We traveled from Bandar Bushehr toward Abadan along Iran’s Persian Gulf coast, learning about the region’s Afro-Iranian heritage and stopping at roadside markets, a tax-free bazaar, falafel shops, and a busy harbor. We continued through military checkpoints and reached the Iran-Iraq border at the Shatt al-Arab River, where we saw Iraq across the water and spoke with a former soldier who had been wounded during the Iran-Iraq War. We felt increasingly unsafe while filming near the restricted, heavily guarded border area and quickly returned to the hotel.
