Camping in Iraq (banned by military)

We left Erbil and traveled through checkpoints and mountain landscapes with Rekan, stopping in Shaqlawa and visiting Korek Mountain Resort by cable car. We tried to reach Qandil Mountain to camp, but PKK checkpoints turned us back, so we found another campsite by the road. We cooked a local Kurdish dinner over a fire and discussed safety in Iraqi Kurdistan.
