Crazy Landing On Ice In Antarctica

We flew from southern Chile to Antarctica, landing on the ancient blue-ice runway at Union Glacier with our team of climbers and expedition staff. We explored the remote glacier camp, learned about the extreme conditions and environmental precautions, and even played volleyball while waiting for our next flight. We then boarded a small ski-equipped plane to Mount Vinson Base Camp, where we prepared to begin the journey toward the mountain.
