Crazy Road Trip In Iraq As An American

We drove from central Iraq toward the southeastern part of the country, passing through numerous police checkpoints and dealing with intense delays and security concerns. We visited the ancient Sumerian city of Ur, where we explored its ziggurat and the remains of Mesopotamia. After a sandstorm forced us to change our plans for the marshlands, we continued to Basra, found dinner, and reflected on the stressful but successful journey.
