We explore Havana during a severe fuel and electricity crisis, visiting empty gas stations, darkened streets, ration shops, dollar supermarkets, markets, universities, and cinemas. We speak with residents about shortages of food, water, medicine, fuel, and internet access, as well as low wages, overcrowded housing, and the struggle to meet basic needs. We also examine Cuba’s history, its relationship with the United States and Russia, and how people continue to adapt and show resilience.
