In this video, we embarked on a cycling adventure through the Galápagos Islands with our guide, Fausto. Along the route to Garrapatero beach, we learned about the highly poisonous manchineel tree and its toxic fruit, as well as the giant prickly pear cactus native to Santa Cruz island. We also visited the Charles Darwin Scientific Station, where we discovered that invasive blackberry plants (moras) are a significant threat to native plant species, and reflected on the tragic extinction of the giant tortoise species, including Lonesome George, due to historical human impact.
