Day 1: Arriving in Jamaica's Capital City (beyond dangerous)

We explored Tivoli Gardens in Kingston, a neighborhood affected by gang rivalries, violence, poverty, and tense relations with the police. We met residents who described life in the community, visited homes affected by flooding, and learned how people survive by collecting and recycling scrap metal at Riverton Dump. We also saw how residents use improvised security cameras and other measures to protect themselves in this dangerous environment.
