Detained by Corrupt Police Driving in Senegal, Africa

We drove from Gambia toward Senegal, stopping at the beach, visiting the town of Soma, meeting local people, and giving hitchhikers a ride. We crossed the Gambia River and discussed the country’s tourism, resorts, and contrasting experiences with police on either side of the river. In Senegal, we were repeatedly stopped, intimidated, questioned, and pressured for bribes, including by an officer who asked for our watch and car keys, before eventually arriving back in Dakar.
