Eating In A Soviet Restaurant

We visit Starivremia, a Soviet-themed restaurant in Gomel, and explore its decor featuring Soviet leaders, memorabilia, maps, music, and clothing. We try Belarusian food, including solyanka, fish, salad, vodka, and kvass, while discussing nostalgia for the Soviet period and its complicated legacy. After paying a very modest bill, we leave the restaurant and return to modern-day Gomel.
