Entering Afghanistan's Most Ancient City (3,000 Bc)

We explored Herat, an ancient Silk Road city, visiting the Friday Mosque and its traditional tile factory, the citadel associated with Alexander the Great, and a historic Jewish synagogue. We also visited a sacred shrine, wandered through busy markets, met welcoming locals, and learned about the city’s history, culture, and difficult past. We ended the day at the Friday Mosque during sunset and prayer after watching a cricket match.
