Entering Libya As An American (Nobody Goes Here)

We explore Tripoli, Libya, visiting its Italian quarter, old Medina, souks, Roman and Ottoman landmarks, churches, and coastal surroundings. We try Libyan cuisine, especially couscous, and interact with welcoming local people. Because of the civil war and heavy security restrictions, we feel anxious throughout the visit and are limited to Tripoli and parts of the northern coast.
