We explored Leptis Magna in Libya, an ancient Roman city dating back to 146 BC that later became a Byzantine provincial capital. We walked through remarkably preserved landmarks including the forum, sports ground, theater, public facilities, and a game area, while learning about Roman life and admiring the nearby sea. We also met a guide, a Japanese traveler, and a teacher with schoolchildren who had left their homes because of the war.
