Entering Makoko | World's Largest Floating Slum

We visited Makoko in Lagos, Nigeria, traveling by boat through the floating community and learning about residents’ daily lives, fishing traditions, schools, homes, and local businesses. We met community members who described the challenges of living on polluted water, limited healthcare and sanitation, and pressure from the government to leave. We also visited a clinic and an orphanage while hearing why many residents want to remain in the place they call home.
