Entering The Land of Ladyboys (Thailand)

We explore Thailand’s ladyboy culture, including their visibility in everyday life, nightlife, and society, and discuss possible reasons for the country’s relative tolerance, including Buddhism and historical evidence. We visit Pattaya’s Walking Street and interview the owner and workers at a ladyboy bar about their identities, families, and experiences. We reflect on our own changing perceptions and encourage greater acceptance.
