Entering the Slum that Japan Doesn't Want You to See

We enter Sanya, Tokyo’s hidden slum, where we explore the neighborhood, meet homeless residents, visit one man’s cramped living space, and learn about the area’s history. We then travel to Fukuoka to meet former Yakuza members, who tell us about gang life, loyalty, violence, tattoos, money, and leaving the organization. We also follow them through the city and visit a nightlife spot while hearing about their influence on Japanese society.
