We travel by night train from Bucharest to Chișinău, experiencing the Soviet-era carriages and meeting fellow passengers along the way. We explore Chișinău, comparing its streets, parks, hotels, markets, monuments, and underpass with our visit five years earlier, and find that the city has improved considerably. We then rent a car and head into the Moldovan countryside, visiting villages, a local bar, a Soviet war memorial, an abandoned schoolhouse, and finally reaching Ratuș.
