Hiding Away in a Remote Cottage for the Winter

We drove through snowy roads in northern Finland to a remote cottage after a frightening incident in which our truck slid along a guardrail. We spent a month there, training with our dog for an Arctic ultra-marathon, making weekly grocery trips, and writing an adventure book. We later collected the truck from a mechanic in Kuusamo, learned it had suffered only cosmetic damage, and fitted it with aggressive winter tires.
