Hiking Alone on a Yemeni Island (+Accident...)

We set out before sunrise to climb to the summit of the mountain above our camp, enjoying the cool morning and meeting a curious goat along the way. We discover a cave, injure ourselves on a sharp plant, and continue until we reach the top with views of the sandbank and camp. We reflect on wanting to remain on the island rather than travel through the pandemic to visit our elderly grandparents.
