Holi in Varanasi, India | What You Should Know (Good, Bad, and Ugly)

We began our time in Varanasi with a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges, then walked along the ghats and observed the Burning Ghat and the evening Ganga Aarti fire ceremony. We also shared our experiences of becoming seriously ill and explained why staying inside during the official Holi celebrations turned out to be a blessing. Before leaving for our overnight train, we offered advice about celebrating Holi safely, including choosing private or rooftop gatherings.
