We spent three days exploring the Falkland Islands, including Stanley, where we discovered a strong British influence in the language, customs, pubs, buses, currency, and daily life. We also learned about the islands’ disputed sovereignty, the 1982 war with Argentina, and the referendum to remain a British overseas territory. We explored Falklander culture and livelihoods, including government work, farming, and sheep production, while taking in the region’s peaceful landscapes and wildlife.
