We spent three days with the Hadza in northern Tanzania, joining their hunts for rock hyraxes, squirrels, bush babies, honey and baboons while learning how they make arrows, poison, fires and shelters. We followed hunters and dogs through difficult terrain, shared hunted food and observed the community’s traditional skills and daily life. Despite tracking baboons through the day and night, we returned without a successful kill, highlighting how the Hadza are adapting to dwindling wildlife and the pressures of modernization.
