We took the metro through Cairo to explore its old religious quarter, visiting Coptic churches, synagogues, a cemetery, and Egypt’s oldest mosque. We learned about the area’s Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and pharaonic history, met local viewers, and were briefly questioned by police. We finished the day with roasted sweet potato and Lebanese food before returning to the hotel.
