I Didn't Want to Quit

We took on a four-day, 185-kilometre self-sufficient race in the Arctic Circle with our dog Vilk, pulling a sled through soft snow, frozen landscapes, and challenging nighttime conditions. We reached 100 kilometres while camping, resting at checkpoints, and carefully monitoring Vilk, but withdrew when he began limping. A vet later found no serious injury, only irritated paws, and after resting and receiving treatment, Vilk returned to his energetic self while we decided to come back for another attempt.
