I Drove a Car 17 Hours in Africa (had to bribe police)

We rented a car in Dakar and drove south through Senegal toward the Gambian border, navigating traffic, toll roads, salt flats, changing landscapes, and the paperwork required to cross. After entering Gambia, we encountered multiple police checkpoints where officers repeatedly questioned our documents and pressured us for money. We continued toward the ferry, dealing with delays and uncertainty along the way.
