We traveled from Istanbul to Trabzon and then drove to Kuşköy, a village where people communicate between mountaintops using a whistling language. We learned that the language can express anything spoken language can, is taught in local schools, and is still used by younger generations. We met villagers, were invited into their homes for tea, and tried to learn how to greet people and communicate through whistles.
