I Entered the Strangest Automated Restaurant in Japan

We travel by car to a staffless vending-machine restaurant in Japan and meet its owner, who shows us the retro machines and explains how they are operated. We try hamburgers, ramen, udon, toasted sandwiches, and other meals, finding the food surprisingly good and learning that the machines are refilled and maintained throughout the day. We also see the restaurant’s recycling area, manga collection, food-history displays, and souvenirs.
