I Explored China's Failed $1 Billion Copy of Paris (real city)

We took a train to Tianducheng, China, to investigate a city modeled after Paris and find out why it seemed nearly abandoned. We explored its hotel, recreated landmarks, Champs-Élysées, Eiffel Tower, and surrounding neighborhoods while talking with local residents. By evening, we discovered a lively, communal city where people gathered, played, danced, and welcomed us.
