I Met The Sapeurs of Congo (Luxury Rebels)

We visit Brazzaville and meet the sapeurs, Congolese men known for their elegant suits, colorful outfits, and distinctive style. We learn how La Sape functions as a cultural movement, how sapeurs greet and respect one another, and how many of them come from poor neighborhoods while finding ways to obtain fine clothing and accessories. We visit a shop, talk with several sapeurs about their backgrounds and initiation, and spend time with them at a restaurant.
