We prepared for and completed a self-supported Rim to Rim to Rim ultramarathon across the Grand Canyon, running from the remote North Rim down to the Colorado River, up to the South Rim, and back again. Along the way, we managed extreme heat, steep climbs, limited water, fatigue, and fueling while reflecting on the canyon’s history, Indigenous connections, and immense beauty. After nearly 15 hours and about 43 miles, we reached the North Rim and completed the double crossing.
