I Spent 48 Hours with Reindeer Herders in Norway

We traveled to northern Norway and stayed with a Sami reindeer-herding family, attending a local wedding and learning about their culture and traditions. We joined Niels and Henry in the wilderness to check the herd, repair the corral, drive snowmobiles, lasso reindeer, and help process one of the animals. We also learned how climate change, industrial development, and shrinking grazing lands are threatening their way of life.
