I Spent 7 Days With the Sherpas (Everest Without Oxygen)

We traveled from Kathmandu to Lukla, Namche Bazaar, and eventually Everest Base Camp, spending time acclimatizing while learning about Sherpa culture and their role in guiding climbers. We met legendary climbers including Kami Rita Sherpa, explored the equipment and logistics required for an Everest expedition, and saw how Sherpas carry heavy loads and prepare routes through dangerous terrain. We also learned about their genetic adaptation to high altitude, the risks of the Death Zone, and the effort involved in helping climbers reach the summit and return safely.
