I Spent a Day in Brazil's Most Dangerous Slum

We explored São Paulo’s Paraisópolis favela with local guides, learning about its history, safety concerns, and the contrast between its reputation and residents’ everyday lives. We visited a market, a football match, an art gallery, and the homes of local artists and athletes, while meeting people involved in food aid, rugby, fashion, and music. We also toured a remarkable house made from recycled materials and saw the community’s streets, rooftops, creativity, and nightlife preparations.
