I Took Him Backpacking for the First Time. Mistake?

We took Tom on his first overnight backpacking trip in Wyoming’s Wind River Range, hiking through rugged wilderness and camping in the mountains. We then drove off-road from Pinedale toward Big Piney, navigating rough tracks, preparing the truck, and camping again with a fire and sausages. Although Tom found the hiking difficult in the moment, we shared a memorable adventure and he said he would go backpacking with us again.
