I Traveled to the Most Crowded Island in the World - Without Laws

We traveled from Nairobi to Kisumu and then by boat to Migingo Island in Lake Victoria, exploring its crowded homes, shops, fishing activity, guesthouses, and boat-repair facilities. We met Kenyan and Ugandan residents, learned about the island’s community rules and history of conflict, and saw how people from different backgrounds live together. We also discovered the importance of fishing, including the export of Nile perch, to the island’s economy.
