I Tried the Official State Sport of Colorado (Burro Racing)

We traveled to Leadville, Colorado, to attempt a 15-mile burro race at elevations above 10,000 feet, after only two days of training. We learned about the history of burro racing, met our donkeys, and tackled the difficult course while dealing with altitude, wildfire smoke, exhausted legs, and donkeys that had minds of their own. We eventually crossed the finish line with Stormtrooper and earned a belt buckle.
